The Muskuloskeletal Oncology Lab received notification that their research proposal has been selected for the CTOS Nancy Lee Katz Grant Competition Intraoperative Margin Assessment for STS Award. The project studying indocyanine green fluorescence angiography (ICGFA) for sarcoma surgery margins will receive a $125,000 award.
This project was originally started with Mitch Fourman, carried on by Jared Crasto, Alejandro Morales, and Adel Mahjoub. Last year, Sumail Bhogal opened a human clinical trial for ICGFA in sarcoma surgery, and the grant will enable this work to continue.
