A story ran on WTAE-TV about Dr. Kurt Weiss and a grant that was literally hand-delivered by a research funding organization called MIBAgents (Make It Better for Kids with Osteosarcoma). This group is made up of survivors, those in treatment, parents, parents of those who did not survive their cancer, who all decide where funds will go. Fourteen of them traveled to Pittsburgh (a 15 year old sarcoma patient and her mom from Hawaii!!!) to meet Dr. Weiss and Dr. Watters and tour their lab to ‘see’ this research on ‘their’ cancer.
