Jeremy D. Shaw, MD

Jeremy D. Shaw, MD, is a spine surgeon at UPMC. He serves as Director of Spine Education and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Shaw is the Associate Fellowship Director for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine AO Spine Fellowship. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of California at San Francisco, followed by his fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine.


Dr. Shaw’s clinical interests include spinal surgery, spinal deformity, and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He has won numerous awards and published extensively on spine surgery with dozens of peer reviewed publications and presentations. He is a member of the Lumbar Spine Research Society (LSRS), AO Spine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).  Dr. Shaw is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
