Research Interests

Dr. Segal's research is centered on establishing a comprehensive pediatric spine research program at UPMC Children's Hospital, with a particular focus on identifying predictors of successful non-operative treatment for scoliosis. His work also extends to pediatric orthopedic trauma, and he maintains a strong interest in incorporating and validating patient-reported outcome measures (PROs) within pediatric orthopedic surgery to better capture and improve the patient experience.
