Thanks to Dr. Amanda McCoy, Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Pitt Med Students Brenda Iglesias and Elizabeth Clayton for facilitating the Youth Surgical Academy on April 12 at the Hill House.
Youth Surgical Academy exposes underrepresented minorities in 6th – 8th grade to medical subspecialties through 1.5 hour sessions. Specialties include ENT, Derm, Ortho, and OBGYN. Each session is facilitated by members of Pitt Med School’s Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and UPMC residents/attendings of that specialty.
