UPMC Concussion Program/Concussion Lab Receives CDMRP/DoD Grant Funding Awards

Two CDMRP TBIPH (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs/ Traumatic Brain Injury and Psychological Health Research Program) grant proposals were recommended for funding for FY2022.  The awards total ~$8.6M in direct and indirect costs across four years beginning in Sep-Oct 2023.

The second award is for $2.5M to fund a clinical trial of combined vestibular and mental health treatment for military service members and civilians with concussion at Pitt/UPMC and Ft. Hood, TX.

These awards and the success of the concussion research team would not be possible were it not for the outstanding reputation, resources, and support from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and School of Medicine at Pitt, as well as the faculty and staff of the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program and Concussion Research Lab.
