Pitt Ortho Participates in Aaron Donald Foundation [AD99] Prep Forward Program

The UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Service recently participated in the Aaron Donald Foundation [AD99] Prep Forward Program at the Best of Batch Foundation in Munhall. 

The AD99 Prep Forward Program provides programs and services for African American student-athletes between the ages of 13 to 18 to include mentoring, academic support, life skills development, job readiness, athletic training, and more. 

Pitt Ortho faculty and staff introduced and reviewed medical career paths and professions with the AD99 Prep Forward students and their families. 

Pitt Ortho participants included:

Physician: Amanda McCoy, MD, MPH (pediatric orthopaedic surgeon)

Resident: Cortez Brown, MD (orthopaedic surgery resident)

Nursing: Nicole Czolba, BSN RN ONC

Athletic Trainer: Corey Ratsch, ATC

Physical Therapy: Catherine Vargo, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS
