Pitt Ortho attends Cervical Spine Research Society

Pitt Ortho was well represented at the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) in Atlanta, Georgia. All of our outstanding spine faculty, including acting chairman Dr. William Donaldson, associate program director Dr. Joon Lee, Dr. Jeremy Shaw, as well as Biodynamics Lab director Dr. William Anderst were all in attendance, in addition to residents Dr. Stephen Chen, Dr. Richard Wawrose and Dr. Anthony Oyekan. 

Numerous other Pitt Ortho alumni were also in attendance, including Drs. James Kang (Chair, Brigham and Women’s), Joseph de Groot (Pitt Ortho ’21, current spine fellow), Brett Braly (private practice, Oklahoma City), Zeke Cassinelli (private practice, Georgia), Paul Hong (private practice, Sacramento), Barrett Woods (Rothman Institute), Jesse Bible (Penn State), Ahmad Nassr (Mayo Clinic), Amir Abtahi (Vanderbilt) and Paul Johnson (private practice, Wisconsin). 

Special congratulations to PGY-2 Dr. Stephen Chen for receiving a $15,000 grant award for his project titled “The Effect of Cervical Orthoses on Intervertebral Kinematlcs.” Way to go!
