Passing of Kent Chou (Pitt Ortho Alum '03; Hand '04)

On Sunday, September 9th, Kent Chou, beloved resident and hand fellow in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Pitt passed away. Dr. Chou attended Brigham Young University and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in English.  He then attended Yale University School of Medicine, where he obtained his MD degree.  He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery (1998-2003) as well as a fellowship in hand, upper extremity, and microsurgery (2003-2004) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In 2004 he joined Canyon Orthopaedic Surgeons in Avondale, Arizona.  He is survived by his wife Shelly, children Jordan, Emily, Ryan and Natalie and many other family members. 

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 425 S Etrella Parkway, Goodyear, AZ 85338.  Viewings will be held on Friday, September 14, from 6-8 pm and Saturday, September 15, from 11-12:45.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, at 1PM.
