International Traveling Fellows Visit Pittsburgh

We were thrilled to host a few different groups of traveling fellows this past summer, including members from the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the American Orthopaedic Association Austrian-Swiss-German Fellows (AOA-ASG) and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA).

The ISAKOS traveling fellows visited and delivered excellent and interesting presentations. During their stay, we enjoyed delicious food together and had the opportunity to explore our orthopaedic research labs.

The ESSKA/AOSSM traveling fellows’ time with us was marked by stimulating discussions, great food, and tours of our operating rooms and labs. We also had the opportunity to explore our football training room and we got to show them the sights of Pittsburgh on a bike tour across the city.

The AOA-ASG fellows toured the UPMC Sports Medicine Center and had some delicious dinners while here in Pittsburgh.

Last but certainly not least, the JOA fellows from Japan also toured our facilities, including operating rooms and labs, as well as got to enjoy some sightseeing in Pittsburgh.

We are grateful for the opportunity to host our international counterparts here in Pittsburgh. Their dedication and expertise have brought a global perspective to our work here in the steel city, inspiring us all to reach for new heights in our own practice.
