Dr. Sebastian Irarrazaval will receive the ESSKA Porto Award for Innovation in Arthroscopy for the study “Native ACL insertion site restoration improves dynamic kinematics of the knee and patient reported outcomes after ACL reconstruction.” In addition to Dr. Irarrazaval, co-authors on the study are Dr. Freddie Fu, Dr. Scott Tashman, Dr. James Irrgang, Dr. Yuichiro Nishizawa, Eric Thornhauer, Tom Gale, and Dr. Marcio Albers.
The ESSKA Porto Award recognizes the excellency and innovation in arthroscopy and comes with a prize of 2000 EUR. Award diplomas will be presented during the 17th ESSKA Congress in Barcelona, Spain, at the Award Ceremony on May 6, 2016.
Dr. Sebastian Irarrazaval was a sports medicine research fellow in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from January 5, 2015 to December 31, 2015. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, in Santiago, Chile.
