Dr. Brian Klatt and his wife Brooke have established an endowment fund to support the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Orthopaedic Surgery Interest Group, which provides the student body at Pitt Med with exposure to the field of orthopaedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine. The activities and initiatives organized by the group throughout the year facilitate opportunities for students to interact, engage, and network with faculty, residents, and fellows in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This generous gift from the Klatts will support the group in perpetuity.
Dr. Klatt graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1997 and continued here in Pittsburgh for his orthopaedic residency, graduating in the Pitt Ortho Class of 2002. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Chief of Orthopaedics at UPMC East, specializing in hip and knee arthroplasty.
Thank you to the Klatts for supporting this initiative and the medical students who participate in the Orthopaedic Surgery Interest Group. This endowment gift of a student interest group represents the first of its kind at Pitt Med and will serve as a model for similar medical student initiatives in the future.
Please join us in thanking Brian and Brooke!
