AOFAS Annual Meeting 2022

The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Annual Meeting is always well attended by Pitt Ortho, and this year was no different in Quebec City. For the past 5+ years, we’ve been fortunate to have co-residents selected to attend as AOFAS Resident Scholars. Carrying on that tradition this year were PGY-2 lab residents Drs. Matthew Gong and Devon Scott! They attended lecture sessions and got the opportunity to network with faculty. PGY-3 resident Dr. Stephen Bayer presented his poster “Manual and Visual Assessment of Foot Type and Posture Correlates Poorly with Radiographic Assessment.” Both faculty members and residents in our program are involved in the society, from a Board of Directors level as well as with committee appointments. The conference was hallmarked by keynote speakers such as Ken Read, a world champion sailor whose talk “Leadership Under Pressure” was resounding. The various symposia, covering topics ranging from Arthroscopy for Arthritis and Fractures to Progressive Collapsing Foot Deformity, among others, showcased new advancements and techniques in Foot and Ankle.
