Alumni Spotlight: Vincent Russo (Pitt Ortho '81)

Vincent Russo is an alumni of the University of Pittsburgh Orthopedic Residency Training Program class of 1981. Since graduating, he moved out to Arizona where he has been serving patients in the Phoenix area for over 30 years now. Outside of his skills in the operating room, he has also always been a very talented artist. During residency he built sailing ships inside bottles and even gave one as a gift to Professor Ferguson. His talents did not go unnoticed by his co-residents, as his graduating class commissioned him to create the sculpture of Professor Ferguson which is now on display in the main Department of Orthopedic Surgery Office.

Vincent Russo still lives in Arizona with his wife, Janie. Together they have three boys, and one of their sons, Matt, has followed in his father's footsteps and is now a successful orthopedic surgeon himself. Additionally, Vincent and Janie Russo also have six grandchildren that keep them busy. Vincent has continued to pursue art as his main hobby, and has created many projects over the years.
