AANA '25: Presentations and Podiums

The 2025 AANA Annual Meeting, held May 8–10 in Washington, D.C., brought together leaders in arthroscopy and minimally invasive orthopedic surgery for a weekend of clinical insights, research, and innovation. The event featured instructional courses, podium presentations, and specialty sessions designed to advance the field and foster collaboration among professionals from across the nation.

The UPMC Orthopaedic Care team was well represented at this year’s annual meeting including ICLs, general sessions and several podium presentations. Dr. Albert Lin moderated a case-based discussion on non-arthroplasty management of massive irreparable rotator cuff tears, joined by Drs. Ivan Wong, Sara Edwards, and Eric Wagner. Dr. Lin also led a session on revision strategies for failed anterior arthroscopic shoulder stabilization, with faculty including Drs. Aman Dhawan, Katherine Coyner, and Ivan Wong. Dr. Michael McClincy gave an ICL with several sports hip experts from around the country.

Dr. Lin and colleagues presented research on the protective effect of adding remplissage to Bankart repair in shoulders with critical humeral bone loss. Dr. Scott Feeley (Walter Reed) was awarded the best fellow research paper, with collaborators from Walter Reed, Duke and Pitt.

The team showcased several posters, including studies on glenoid track assessment via imaging, return-to-sport testing after shoulder stabilization, outcomes following bariatric surgery in rotator cuff repair, and long-term results of GLAD lesions in first-time anterior shoulder instability.

Congratulations to all involved!
