The Albert B. Ferguson Jr., MD, Resident Research Day was the capstone of another remarkable year of research for PittOrtho residents. This year we were honored to welcome Leesa M. Galatz, MD as keynote speaker. Dr. Galatz is Professor & Chair at the Leni and Peter May Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY. Dr. Galatz’s talk, “Lessons in Leadership: Have it All, Just Not All at Once”, was outstanding!
Our program is one of a few in the United States that offers the opportunity for residents to participate in one year of dedicated research during their residency training. Twelve residents (4 junior and 8 chief) gave presentations on their research work and were judged. The following were the award winners:
Best Junior Presentation
“Intraoperative Evaluation of Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Surgical Margins with Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Imaging”
