Dr. Kurt Weiss has been awarded the 2016 OREF Mentored Clinician-Scientist Grant.
The objective of the OREF Mentored Clinician-Scientist Grant is to promote the development of new clinician-scientists who have demonstrated success as both a cliinician and researcher. The grant stipend allows the investigator to spend dedicated time in research. Eligible applicants are orthopaedic surgeons who have received K08 or K23 funding from the NIH, or equivalent mentored research funding. OREF funds only one Mentored Clinician-Scientist grant per institution per year.
Dr. Weiss's NIH/NCI K08 project "Exploring Sarcoma Metastatic Potential" will receive an annual $20,000 stipend which will begin on July 1, 2016.
