The 19th edition of the Pittsburgh Triathlon and Adventure Race was held at Point State Park on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, 2016.
UPMC Sports Medicine physicians Dr. Vonda Wright, Dr. Bryson Lesniak, and Dr. Mark Sakr served as the medical team for the event.
The event featured an adventure race, sprint triathlon and an Olympic distance triathlon. Due to recent rainfall, all water activities were cancelled. The event proceeded as a duathlon (cycling and running) with a time trial bike start. Proceeds from the event will continue to benefit the work of Friends of the Riverfront in building and maintaining the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.
